Random Acts of Kindness Ideas
At home:
Tell your family members how much you appreciate them.
Do a chore around the house that another family member usually does.
Bake cookies or make a meal for a neighbor
Do home repairs or a minor car repair for a single mother or widow
Clean up trash in your neighborhood
Offer babysitting to a neighbor or friend
Mow a neighbor’s lawn
Leave a treat or handmade note of thanks for a delivery person or mail carrier
Discuss with you children ways to show kindness at school
At Work:
Take flowers to work and share them with coworkers
Write a note to the boss of someone who has helped you, praising the employee
Leave enough money in the vending machine for the next person to get a free snack
Get to work before others and leave a piece of candy, flower, or treat at every desk with a Calvary Cares card.
Leave a cake or other food item in a central area with a Thank You note
Buy a cup of coffee or snack for someone who’s having a long day
Out and About:
Pay for the next person in line
Help someone who is broke down on the side of the road
Volunteer at an agency that needs help
Send a gift to a friend
Write something nice about you waitperson on the back of the bill. (And don’t forget to leave a good tip)
Let someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store.
